Taking a moment to step away from modern furniture, to spot something troubling, it appears that the New York City townhouse that served as the exterior of Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment for several seasons of “Sex and the City” has been sold for - get this, $9.85 million. Yes, that’s correct, you read $9.85 million dollars, U.S. currency. Cold hard cash, y’all.
The home on Perry Street in New York’s West Village went for $200,000 more than its $9.65 million asking price. It is the second time in six months the property has changed hands, having sold for $9 million in November 2011. That’s not a bad deal. I’d like to make $850,000 in six months. Who says the real estate market is depressed? Not that savy owner.
The identities of both buyer and seller are unknown at the moment; corporations are listed on both ends of the transaction.
For his or her nearly $10 million, what does the buyer get? The buyer gets 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an eat-in kitchen and a sun room all packed into to approximately 4,100 square feet, spread over four floors and a basement. Pleae note, there is also a back yard. That must have been what pushed it over the $9 million mark. Plus, don’t forget, you get to have lots of random tourists walk by your abode all the time taking pictures, remembering their favorite SATC moments, I mean who wouldn’t want that right? That’s worth well over $10 million, if you ask me. I mean well over $10 dollars. My favorite part, the lied about the apartment’s real location, always saying it was on the Upper East Side. Who wouldn’t want to pay $9.85 million for an apartment in a location that Carrie was embarassed about? Sign me up. Just give me the $9.85 million first.
